Adriana has been a partner at García Barragán Abogados for over 30 years, leading the area of ​​Intellectual Property and Regulatory Affairs in Health matters.

He has more than 41 years of professional experience and his practice focuses on all branches of intellectual property, including all aspects of Industrial Property (patents, industrial designs, utility models, trade secrets and other new industrial creations, as well as trademark registration, commercial notices, publication of trade names and registration of other distinctive signs, geographical indications, designations of origin, etc.), Copyright, Entertainment Law, Image Rights and New Technologies, as well as Health Law, including registrations, permits and notices in matters of Health Law and Advertising. Through correspondents in other countries, he coordinates the procedures of his clients in these matters in those jurisdictions.

Provides advice on the preservation and defense of intellectual property rights and administrative, judicial litigation and protection in such areas.

He has experience in the formulation of strategies, negotiation and preparation of contracts of all kinds related to the above, both nationally and internationally, and in auditing companies in the legal areas mentioned here.

In the field of Health Law, it provides advice and support in the importation of products, in obtaining authorizations, permits and registrations of medical, hygiene and beauty products and supplies, food, food supplements, pesticides, etc.

He also provides advice on compliance with legal provisions on comparative advertising, official standards, and consumer protection. He is an arbitrator appointed by the National Institute of Copyright, and has acted as an expert in criminal and civil proceedings in the field of Intellectual Law.

Education

She is a lawyer who graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, has a Master's Degree in Comparative Law from Southern Methodist University, and has completed postgraduate courses in Industrial and Intellectual Property at the Universidad Panamericana and at the Illustrious and National College of Lawyers.

She also has a degree in Marketing from the University of San Diego, California and in 2018 she completed a Diploma in Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution taught by the Escuela Libre de Derecho.

Educational Activities

In the academic field, she is a founding professor of the Intellectual Property subject at the Escuela Libre de Derecho, where she continues to teach the Intellectual Property course to 4th year students. She has also been a professor of the Intellectual Property course at the Universidad Iberoamericana, and of the Seminar on Obligations course at the Escuela Libre de Derecho and at the Universidad Iberoamericana.

She is a member of the Mexican Bar Association; the Illustrious and National Bar Association; the Arbitration Center of Mexico; the Mexican Association for the Protection of Industrial Property (AMPPI); the International Association for the Protection of the Industrial Property (AIPPI); the International Trademark Association (INTA); the Inter-American Association of Industrial Property (ASIPI), and the American Bar Association (ABA). She is currently Vice President of the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Mexico Chapter, where she has been President of the Committee on Distinctive Signs for many years.
