Mariana García Barragán L.

Experience

Mariana has been part of García Barragán Abogados for more than two years, and works as an associate in the Intellectual Property department and as area leader in the Health Records department.

Her practice focuses on health registration and all branches of intellectual property. She advises companies on the manufacture, import and marketing in Mexico of all types of products and services subject to health control, including medicines, food, beverages, dietary supplements, perfumery, hygiene and beauty products, pesticides, and medical devices.

It has extensive experience in reviewing labeling, packaging, advertising material and catalogs, providing alternatives for product reformulation and labeling changes, if necessary, to ensure compliance with the Mexican Official Standards (NOMs) and current applicable regulations.

She also has experience in the areas of research, bioethics and human rights. She has worked with representative companies in the above sectors, and with direct sales companies.

Education

She is a lawyer who graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with honors. She has completed two postgraduate diplomas, one in Health and Law, and the other in Health, Law and Bioethics from the Institute of Legal Research of the UNAM. In addition, she has completed a Diploma in the Inter-American Human Rights System and a Diploma in Energy, both from the Institute of Legal Research of the UNAM.

She completed an Online Diploma in Global Health Bioethics from the University of Southern California and is currently pursuing a Specialization in Commercial Law from the Escuela Libre de Derecho.

Educational Activities

In the academic field, she has recently co-authored the work Research in Genetics, Bioethics and Secularism, published by the Institute of Legal Research, Jorge Carpizo Collection, of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, A.C. (AMPPI), the Mexican Bar Association, College of Lawyers, A.C., the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and the CONACYT Toxicology Network.
